RAYS Cage-Guided Control Valve Achieves ISO15848-1 Low Emission Certification, 100,000 Rigorous Tests Verify Ultra-Low Emission Rates

Press Release   08-21,2025

Recently, under the rigorous testing of a third-party laboratory and the witness and comprehensive evaluation of the TÜV SÜD certification body, the cage control valve produced by RAYS at its Alpha factory successfully passed the 100,000-cycle mechanical endurance test and obtained the ISO 15848-1:2015+Amd.1:2017 low-emission certification. This certification not only demonstrates the exceptional performance advantages of RAYS's control valve products but also represents high recognition of the company's long-term commitment to pursuing the ultimate craftsmanship spirit.

For various types of valve products, conventional hydrostatic and pneumatic tests cannot determine their micro-leakage conditions. Instead, more scientific methods and precise instruments are required to detect minor external leaks, which are referred to as micro-leakage. Valves that meet low-leakage requirements have been widely adopted abroad. As international projects increasingly stringent leakage rate requirements, valves transporting toxic, flammable, or explosive media have begun to use micro-leakage valves.

The C702 cage-guided control valve series underwent testing for multiple key performance indicators, with the number of switching cycles and leakage conditions being among the most critical assessment items. The ISO 15848-1 standard is internationally recognized for valve fugitive emission testing. The 4-inch, 600-pound class cage-guided control valve submitted by  RAYS for testing successfully achieved over 100,000 mechanical cycles under varying parameters, including an ambient temperature range of 15–35°C, an operating temperature range of 17–425°C, and an atmospheric pressure range of 86–106 kPa. All leakage indicators passed the final inspection with excellent results, far below the standard test values. This outstanding performance fully demonstrates the leading level of the control valve in terms of design, materials, and manufacturing processes. It successfully obtained CC3 certification, enabling it to provide customers with stable, reliable, efficient, and low-leakage fluid control solutions that fully meet the stringent requirements of various industrial applications for fluid control.

The C702 series cage-guided control valve is a pressure-balanced control valve. This product series not only incorporates the advantages of similar domestic and international products but also introduces improvements, enhancements, and innovations. It achieves an advanced level comparable to similar products globally. This control valve offers advantages such as a large flow coefficient, high regulation accuracy, and strong anti-clogging capability, making it suitable for various complex industrial conditions.

Cage-Guided Control Valve Product Features:

● The fluid passage features an S-shaped streamlined design, enabling high flow capacity. Compared to similar products, it achieves a larger Cv and a wider adjustable range.

● Extended service life is ensured through the use of a multi-spring pneumatic diaphragm actuator. The positioner, actuator, and valve body are integrated, with carefully designed control components to ensure process sensitivity and controllability.

● Standardized design allows for part interchangeability, simplifying maintenance and reducing usage costs. No special tools are required, and parts are universal across valves of different sizes. For example, valves of the same size can be equipped with various types of trim components. By replacing specific trim parts, the valve can be configured into multiple types, such as a window-type low-leakage cage valve, window-type soft-seal cage valve, window-type low-noise cage valve, or small-hole-type low-noise cage valve, to meet diverse process requirements.

● Comprehensive material options include Hastelloy, Monel, titanium and titanium alloys, Inconel alloys, Alloy 20 stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, and other special materials.

● Sealing technology: The stem packing section utilizes low-emission component packing. The company independently developed the RSE-type specialized carbon-graphite valve cage seal ring, ensuring that high-temperature leakage complies with the ANSI VI standard. Multiple packing seal structures are available, and different types of seal rings can be selected based on leakage requirements under various operating conditions.

● This valve series employs the RSE-type graphite spring-energized seal ring, which provides dynamic compensation capability and plays a key role in sealing the gap between the valve cage and the stem. The graphite spring-energized seal ring ingeniously combines the high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance of flexible graphite with the continuous compensation ability of a metal spring. It effectively overcomes issues such as thermal expansion differences, material creep/cold flow, and vibration-induced seal failure leading to leakage under extreme conditions, thereby providing long-term reliable, low-leakage sealing for the stem in harsh environments. It is an indispensable key component for high-performance high-temperature and high-pressure valves.

In the future, we will continue to uphold the principles of technological innovation, safety, and reliability, constantly improving product performance and service quality. We will deepen intelligent manufacturing and material research and development to provide global customers with superior control valve solutions, safeguarding the stability and efficiency of industrial fluids to even higher standards.
